On Saturday 9 December 2017 The Luke and Marcus Trust held our usual Christmas Service and Lunch.
At 11am we all went to St Anne’s Cathedral in Leeds and Father Joe conducted a lovely service for our members, as usual quite a few people attended, it is always very popular as Christmas is a very difficult time for us all and we very much like to remember our lost loved ones in our own very special way. We said a few prayers and sang a little, somebody in the group was a particularly good singer this year but as far as I know nobody knows who this was? We also lit candles for our children and also for the children whose family were unable to attend, nobody was forgotten. A special thanks to Joe for conducting the service for us!
All of us then went round the corner to Browns Restaurant in Leeds and had a lovely meal and the odd glass of wine. A good time was had by all. I think it would be fair to say that we all enjoyed the day, despite our sad thoughts. There was a lot of laughter amongst a lot of happy memories about our children, they will never be forgotten and always have a special place in our hearts.
A Happy New Year to all our members and also those families who may find themselves in a similar situation to ourselves. Also not forgetting those families who are continuing to battle the fight against drugs and who are desperately trying to support their children whose lives are tormented by addiction.
A picture will be uploaded soon.
